Searching for new antibacterial agents, some new quinazolinones containing
oxadiazino, oxadiazolo and oxathiadiazolo moieties have been synthesized. The former
structure of the new products was deduced from elemental analysis and spectral data.
Compounds I, V, XVI, XVII, XIX and XX showed a
remarkable activity against the growth of non-irradiated Staphylococcus aureus,
while the compound XVI exhibited higher activity against radioresistant Staphylococcus
aureus.
