In this work we followed the dynamics of zinc and copper concentration in liver tissue during compensatory liver growth (CLG) (24 and 48 h, 7 and 15 days) after partial hepatectomy (pHx) on Balb/c mice. Significant increase of zinc and copper levels in liver after 48 h in pHx and sham operated animals, indicates that these two elements are necessary during the CLG. The obtained results were supported by zinc and copper concentration in peripheral organs, kidney and muscle.
